Advocacy for Female Education in Afghanistan is one of the main components of Hayat Foundation’s education activities in a country, where the female literacy rate is 17% according to the recent report of the UN. Hayat Foundation supports one women’s learning and livelihood development centre in Afghanistan.
Additionally, Hayat Foundation holds seminars, conferences and contests on different topics, such as “Path to University seminar”, “GCSE guide for parents”, “How to be a brilliant parent”.
Community Development:
Community development is one of the main components of Hayat Foundation activity in the UK. The While we work with the Afghan community to integrate in the British society smoothly, we encourage and advocate for the preservation of their traditional and religious values. The weekly community gatherings focus families, mainly youth to focus on their education and stay away from any types of anti-social elements such as drugs and street fights. Organising Eid celebrations and joint breaking fast during the month of Ramadhan are the examples of Hayat foundation’s community development programmes. Subsequently, the women empowerment activities, such as volunteers training circles, quarterly women’s programme are considered big achievements, where more than 150 women attend and share their experiences with each other.
